Dinner money HAS to be paid every Monday and costs £12.50 per child.  The money should be put in a pink envelope with your child's name and class on it.

Year 2 can buy fruit for snack every day for 30p  If you want to supply your child with a snack for playtime, please remember to give only fruit as we are a healthy school.

Welcome to Year 2

Autumn Term 2017

Book bags are changed on a Thursday.

2R spellings and x tables tests are on Thursday and 2G spelling tests are on Fridays. Big Maths tests are every Wednesday.

The introduction of 'Big Maths' is already raising standards in Mathematics. Please help your child with any of the test papers which are sent home. One  test is  a 'timed' test so children have to 'know' number bonds with no thinking time! Please help your child to memorise these number facts (addition and multiplication).

The children participate in a Literacy scheme called 'Read, Write, Inc'. The children's phonic skills are regularly assessed and they are grouped according to their abilities. They will usually be taught in small groups and they might be with a teacher who is not their class teacher. These groups change regularly as the children progress

The topic for the first Autumn term is 'We are Healthy y' and 'We remember' for Autumn 2.

We will be visiting 'Chapter' and the 'Library' this half term. We will be finding out more about the uses of these public buildings and their history.

Many thanks,
Mrs Chick and Miss Griffiths
