Year 4

4R - Meet your Teacher - Mrs Slater teaches at the beginning of the week and Ms Supple teaches at the end of the week.


4G - Meet your Teacher - Miss Willetts



  • School uniform needs to be worn every day and you change for PE lessons
  • Please do NOT wear jewellery to school
  • Parents, please do not park in the school car park or on the lines outside the school
  • It is very important to come to school every day, school starts promptly at 9am.
  • If your child is ill then you must leave a message on the attendance phone line
  • Please let us know if you change your contact details, eg address or mobile phone number

Please bring your PE kit into school in a separate bag on a Monday and leave it in school all week.

PE/Games kit is a t-shirt, shorts/jogging trousers/leggings and trainers.

You must NOT wear your PE kit to school.

4R & 4G - Your library book will be changed every Thursday

Dinner money HAS to be paid every Monday and costs £12.50 per child.  The money should be put in a pink envelope with your child's name and class on it.


If you want to supply your child with a snack for playtime, please remember to give only fruit as we are a healthy school.

Welcome to Year 4!

We have a busy Summer Term ahead of us, with an abundance of great activities planned for Year 4. 
  • Amelia trust farm- day and residential visit
  • International week
  • Swimming lessons
  • Cricket lessons
  • Trip to Craig y nos Country Park

This term we will be producing a class film called 'Cindy, Ann & Bones and the Temple of Boom!" 
The children will be writing the script, directing the movie and organising a premiere!

Our 'Big Maths' program is continuing this term and you will receive your 'Beat your score' sheet to practice at home. Let's see who can be the most improved pupil this term! 


Our Science topic this term is 'Living things'. We shall be looking at classifying animals, learning about habitats and life cycles as well as carrying out an investigation based in our school garden. 

This term our focus will be 'National Parks'. We will look closely at the Brecon Beacons and compare it to Yellowstone National Park in America. 

Year 4 are continuing to study the nineteenth century. This term we will be looking at Food and Farming. 


Weekly Information
Wednesday and Friday = PE - Children need to bring in clothing suitable for indoor and outside games
